    David Cameron is meeting the bosses of some of the UK's biggest firms to discuss their plans to create thousands of new jobs. John Lewis, Microsoft and all the major supermarkets are among those involved.     Skills shortage could hamper UK jobs recovery

    A skills shortage in UK organisations is the top concern for HR professionals aiming to expand their workforces next year, according to PwC research published today. The survey of HR directors from more than 1,000 companies across Europe and the US found 53 per cent of UK respondents ranked skills shortages as the biggest challenge to finding the right people to fill new positions, compared to just over a quarter of their American peers.     Skills Minister John Hayes today met apprentices at the London launch of IBM’s first apprenticeship scheme, aimed at school leavers.
